Golden Textured Sky
as the Some Strange Substance saga comes to a temporary close, i think it’d be appropriate to post a sketch of a new song i’ve been working on off and on for the debut. it’s called “Golden Textured Sky” and these unfinished lyrics deal with the story of a boy who wakes up one spring morning to find that the sky — once a comforting, happy blue being — has been replaced by a crumbling golden facade of despair and unhappiness and death.
this is a few chords of really distorted digital keyboard with some digital bass underneath. my vocals are distorted and thrown into some reverb and auto-tune. everything here is a placeholder and could be subject to change by the time the final product appears.
lyrics (non-final):
this morning i woke up and i saw the textured sky
i reached for my surroundings and they were all phantom beings
i went outside and i reached for it
it was golden
it was golden
it was strange
(probably the strangest thing i’ve ever seen)
like nothing i’d ever seen before
oh, nothing i’d ever seen before
oh, nothing i’d ever seen before
it was strange
